Gaming and Biking

Yeah, so I got my Dell, the Inspiron 5150, with 2.80 P4 Mobile, 15in SXGA+ with a 30G HD and 1G of RAM.  Hahah.  Yeah, and I was going to buy Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with my Circuit City card, but Kenny had it so he just installed it for me.  Amazing.  The game is sooo addicting, its crazy.  There is so much to do.  Besides the standard criminal missions, there are hidden packages, insane car/bike stunt bonuses, crazy taxi sub-missions as well as ambulance and vigilante submissions, shooting sprees and such.  You have choices about who you want to take jobs from.  The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to drive to a certain area to save.  I've spent 4.5 hours so far playing it (well, that includes like a while of Yin and Hoi playing).   Yikes!  And I'm only 6% done with the game.

Also, my mom decided I had to practice biking so that in Stanford I won't die.  So we decided to bike to Staples on Storrow Drive to "look at computer bags".  Cooool.  Except for the part where my mom forgot the combination and we were stuck in the parking lot for half a hour trying to unstick the lock, and trying to cut it with some crappy wire cutters.  Finally the Staples guy who was helping us is shoving it and accidentally pushes the right combination: it was 2132 not 1232.  It was a blast.

July 4th Party

Yeah, so I had a party on the Fourth of July. It was like a July 4th/Graduation party. I was able to drag Jared, Mark, Kenny, Yin, Hoi, Mike, Qian, George, Vivian, Beijia and Nancy over to my house to party. It was actually the first time Jared had seen my house after living it in for 4 years and knowing Jared for like 8. Sorry bro. Oh yah, and like a million family friends or what not.

So we had the moonwalk set up from the gym, Me and Kenny wrestled to the death. We dealt vicious blows to each other: He scratched me, and I jammed his thumb. I printed out a ton of pictures from Best Buy at 10cents a pic, so we looked through that. Then we played Zhen Shang You for a while, and ate Hamburgers and Hot Dogs (better than McDonalds!).

Later we watched a the movie Hero, with Jet Li and the hot chick from Crouching Tiger. I remember seeing a trailer for it in the theaters (Chinese Movie being released in US) and going oh shit that looks awesome! But the movie was really weird. It was mostly about how Jet Li killed all these assasins to aid the King, but then it turns out Jet Li is an assasin himself who killed the others to get closer to the King, but then he didn't really kill them, because they are all in on it...blah blah. Alot of wireframe and not that exciting.

We had to interrupt the movie to watch fireworks. I spent half the time in the house, trying to find batteries for my digital camera so I could take some pictures of the fireworks. I found some eventually and got some great shots and videos of the fireworks. Good sound quality and bright too. So finally we went back to the house, finished the movie, and went to the basement to play NeverHaveIEver. George rocked us... =( That's kinda sad.

Summer

So, I've been staying busy this summer. My new schedule goes:

8:45 - 10:45AM: Work at Dafca (an EDA comp)
11:30AM - 4PM: Gymnastics
4:40PM - 6PM: eat, take 4, shower
9 PM- 12ish: chill with S8 or teach my mom how to use AIM

So it turns out my neighbor, whose child I coached at a summer camp once, and whose house I sitted while they were on vacation, is the CEO of a startup EDA (Electronic Design Automation) company. So when it came time to find a job, Peter was able to offer me a position as assistant to the secretary. So I took it. I scan buisiness cards, I file papers, and I work on a task program project. It's a good life.

Training is hot and sweaty, especially in the summer time. Working a few new skills on floor like double twisting double back, and double layouts, etc. I'm gaining weight, which is decidedly a bad thing: I'm up to 160 now constantly, although sometimes I can sweat it back down to 155 at the end of practice.

Chilling: now we play like Texas Hold Em or something every other night. It's crazy. Mike usually wins tons of money and then starts betting piles on every hand. It's terrible because he's trying to get out, but ends up winning more money. Sad, but true. Qian is probably the best player. One time it was just him and Kenny (after kenny won my money on an all-in no-look round), and Kenny had about 4x more money, and yet Qian prevailed. Good work!
